Water Runs Back: Open Space and Native Americans
September 15 @ 1:00 pm - 2:30 pm

Since 2020, Broomfield has developed relationships and partnered with sovereign Indigenous Nations and with Native people in our community. This work led to the second-ever Sister City agreement between a sovereign Indigenous Nation (the Cheyenne and Arapaho Tribes) and a municipality. In addition, the recently named Water Runs Back Open Space was christened by Cheyenne and Arapaho leaders.
Discover the story of this partnership through the short film ‘We Share a History’ (2025) and then hear from Fred Mosqueda, Language and Culture Coordinator for the Cheyenne and Arapaho Tribes, about the Cheyenne and Arapaho and their connection to Colorado.
