Civic Conversation: ‘We the People’ of the US Constitution

Civic Conversations is an opportunity to increase your civic knowledge of municipal processes, and apply your newly-learned information into a dialogue with other attendees. Hosted by the Broomfield Library, Arts, History, and CSU Extension department, this series is a space to foster conversations with your neighbors and learn more about the processes that shape the City and County of Broomfield.
This session is focused on the history of the language choices of the US Constitution and how people in Colorado and the broader United States interpreted that language differently over time to include and exclude others based on race, gender, or status of citizenship. A discussion will engage attendees to think critically about how broader national and state history shapes modern Broomfield/north metro communities.
Join us at the Broomfield Library in the Eisenhower Room.
